Cars Stand Attention: Traffic Wardens in Sight!
See the man, wearing white uniform, to the right of the picture? He is one of many traffic wardens, from Ghana's MTTU, or Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
Here, he is directing traffic exactly the lane down, where this picture was taken, near the airport.

A nice photograph and a good explanation. Thanks for posting it.

He's a brave man, I think. Standing in the middle of traffic must be a bit off-putting sometimes.
It is funny that you posted this picture...
A few days ago, I misuderstood the white coated guy's "stop" signal for the international "take yer chance and come on through" signal. Two blocks later, I was chased down and cut off by an upset Mr. White coat who had left his post and commandered a civilian car. That was funny enough. Oddly enough, he didn't want to write me a ticket, but demanded a ride back to his intersection. I admitted my error, but told him that he wasn't getting a ride, but if he ran, perhaps he could get back there before an accident occured.
So, was I supposed to bribe him?
They are sharp dressers, but the volunteer leafy branch waving brigade really are amazing.
Ok, sorry to vent. Nice pictures.
:P

not white....
but many years ago, the police uniform was white, mmm...just in 1960s i think...
