There I was last evening sitting in a shared taxi (that's a taxi that takes you to a destination with the price split among the number of occupants) of four people almost at GOIL filling station on the Spintex Road, when the taxi blurts to a rude stop.
The reason was a simple one: petrol--or lack thereof! We had to wait some ten minutes before the taxi driver ran up to GOIL, get some fuel, and get back to the car to fill it up.
As you can imagine, I took the opportunity to take a picture to memorialise some of the hazards our taxi-drivers put us through!
Hot tip!

*LOL* Great story! Had you paid already? During the 10 minutes I would have headed straight towards the nearest bus-stop and hitched the next trotro to my destination! Shame on that taxi-driver for holding his customers to ransom simply due to HIS bad planning.
Hey, too bad I was not home, you could have come and chilled a bit. Frankly, I wouldn't have paid either. It's by no means a rare occurrence and it happened to me several times: I got out of the car and found another one going to my destination. Some lessons have to be learnt the hard way (although taxi drivers seem quite impervious to this kind of lessons) and how better than by hitting at their wallet?
Abena--I actually had not paid yet. I could have literally walked up the hill to GOIL, and gotten another cab, but if I had done so, wouldn't have thought about capturing it for this blog!;-)) I was very tempted to do so, but wanted to stay and observe some of the challenges of being in such a situation. Might sound odd, but since I started photo-blogging, I endure some of the craziest situations--if only to blog about them!;-)
Pipedreams--why, thanks for the invitation! Are you nearby SPintex? I think after having experienced this one, I'll walk away next time...btw, like ur blogs! keep the fire burning, and think about joining ghanblogging on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ghanablogging
ahhh... the inefficiencies of home... love it! not so great when you are in the situation, but fantastic when you are having a bout of nostalgia.
I want to recommend an excellent airport taxi that will get you to and from any destination of your choice in the local area. Vast knowledge of the nooks and
crannies of your intended destination especially if you just touched down from a temperate yonder.
Try this service once there will be absolute gaurantee of no petrol shortage or leakage and you'll come calling again http://www.mottolinesworldwide.com
