It [Ghana Telecom] Can Work in Ghana!
For a continent so used to being the cynosure of occasionally-Western (and Asian) cynics that feel every one of the 900 million members live on trees, it's very interesting to see that despite the culture of impunity that so-often characterises African nations, it is equally goo d to see that there can be a culture of maintenance--as is the case here, where erstwhile Ghana Telecom workers are maintaining the phone lines.

Let us hope the corporate culture of Vodafone replaces the culture of irresponsility and impunity so endemic in our society.
What Ghanaian corporates need is a continuous system of monitoring of their staff to ensure that people really do the jobs they are paid to do.
I was once at a conference with some guys from Laos who thought they were better than Africans in general despite the terrible shape of the laotian economy & society.
I pitied them for their primitive and prideful attitude. It is amazing how ignorance and arrogance go hand in hand.
i get the kick out specially when some Africans use the word Asian tigers which Asia are they talking about, due to my job i have had the pleasure to travel to most of these so call tigers most African states are in better shape than most i have seen...
