...of an innocuous kind!
Yours truly forgot two ghana cedis (circa $US2.00) in my shirt yesterday as the things went in for a wash.
The sight of those wet notes was all-too-tempting for me to come out with this blog entry title!:-) Have a great weekend. Hope Labour Day was a good one!

Nice pun! They must have re-valued the money since I was in Ghana - last time I was there it was a couple of hundred cedis to the dollar (back in the 90's). Ghana's a great country - probably my favourite West African country (although I have a strong love/hate relationship with Nigeria). I lived in Lome for four years and often worked in Accra and up north in Tamale.
Very good! They look like they made it through the wash okay.
LOL! Glad you were able to save the money.

nice post - paper left in the wash usually disintigrates.
Benjamin--hi! They did re-value it with a campaign that has proved to be one of the more successful campaigns of attitudinal change. The site is here: http://www.ghanacedi.gov.gh. They had a seriously catchy song that everyone by now can sing;-) where 1 new GHC(Ghana cedi)=10,000 old cedis.
Kris--they did, thanks!;-) Perhaps a testament of the kind of paper that was used...?
Paz--you and me both!;-) Hope all's well ur way...
Ackworth born--thanks God I managed to save it okay!!

Oh wow, the cedi is about 1 for 1 with the Australian dollar now, I imagine... when we were there it was 5 cedis to the AUD$1. I'm glad we tucked away the 3 cedis we found left over from our last visit... lol.
